Computer controlled sensors allow the home read information about people, objects, or conditions in the smart home environment, and computer controlled actuators allow the smart home to manipulate objects and appliances in the environment. General functions provided by the smart home include safety, security, and health monitoring; notification of emergencies, memory aids, and task assistance.
