Hormone may help Alzheimer’s fight
London – The Female hormone estrogen may help reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease in younger women, Dutch researchers said on Thursday.
They think estrogen helps inhibit the build-up of senile plaque in the brain which is a defining characteristic of the degenerative brain disorder.
Other studies have shown how estrogen decreases risk in older Alzheimer’s patients, but the research by Dr.Arjen Slooter of Utrecht University is the first to establish a link with the early onset of the disease.
