The goal with the supervisor educational programme was to get the supervisors to work with implementation. In this process, they were responsible for developing the areas of priority, organizational factors and life-style factors. The supervisors established health plans for their own teams. Early in the process the supervisors invited their team members to give their own view of why they should work with health promotion and what he/she as a supervisor could achieve. The importance of participation was emphasized, which gave all members possibilities to give their view on what kind of activities the group should focus upon. The supervisors worked together with their employees in writing the health-promotion plan for the work teams in an interactive communication. The supervisors stressed the importance of marketing results, for example at department meetings and/or announcing it in public.
