2.2. Microalgae inoculum
One of the wild-type Chlorella sp. species was used in this study,
the characteristics of which were described in the previous study
(Wang et al., 2016). The strain was preserved in standard BG-11
media and the seed was maintained at constant temperature
(25 ± 2 C) under cool white fluorescent lamps with around
100 lmol photon m2 s1 to provide continuous lighting and kept
at the exponential growth phase by periodic plating and
transferring.
