The equilibrium constants of potential side reactions (intramolecular dehy- dration of 1-butanol to 1-butene, isomerization of 1-butene to cis-2-butene and trans-2-butene, olefins hydration to 2- butanol and 1-(1methylpropoxy) butane formation from the reaction between 1-butanol and the olefins) were also deter- mined. From these values, thermodynamic properties such as the standard enthalpy change r H0 (l) , the standard entropy
change rS0(l) and the standard Gibbs energy rG0(l) of reac- tions were computed and compared with estimated and experimental values found in data banks. Whenever possible, recommended values for these thermochemical properties, as well as for the standard enthalpy of formation ( fH0(l)) and for the standard molar entropy (S0(l)) for the compounds present in the system are provided.
