The design of the pedestrian link is based on the historical precedent of the Temple of Fortuna at Praeneste, near Rome [above]. in the design of the Roman temple a series of ramps traces an indirect path ascending to the rnain temple. The design for the museum [below] similarly uses a series of ramps to develop a pedestrian path that cuts through the site and leads up to the street at the back. The ramps themselves define a journey and experience in which pedestrians rnust engage with the museum space on their way across.
