0201.when the corpen signal is executed the leading ship is to alter to the new course and becomes the guide. the remaining ship are to follow round in her wake.the direction of the alteration PORT STED will be indicate.
0202.multiple line formation. when the CORPEN signal is executed the leading ship of the Pivot column is to turn to the new course and become the guide. the leading ship of the remaining column are to alter course indipendently to resume their previous relative bearing and distance from the guide by the most direct route. the speed of the remaining column is to be increased by signal from each column commander to the appropriate speed up to a maximum of one knot less than stationing speed and subsequently reduced when in station. the direction of alteration port will be indicated.
0203.bearing
a. the bearing will be the signalled by direction of alteration followed by three numeral.
e.g corpen STED190.meaning other course by wheeling to true course 190to STED preserving relative bearing and distance.
b. relative bearing will be signalled by direction of the alteration followed by one or two numeral indicated the number of tens of degree from the ship heads.
e.g corpen port2
meaning alter course by wheeling 20degree to PORT preserving relative bearing and distance.
c.answer may be used for relative wheeling only to indicate haft of ten degree.
