Visible spectrum of light is converted into useful electrical energy whereas IR spectrum is converted into heat by PV which is utilized by TEG. A PTH system is designed for 80 W rating with MAX60 solar panel with maximum power output of 60 W at standard operating conditions. Specifications of MAX60 solar panel are provided in Table 1. A two stage conversion with a boost converter having small boost capacity is employed for MPPT operation of both PV and TEG sources and a battery is employed to regulate the DC bus voltage of PTH system. TEG array comparing of 24 TEM having net capacity of 30 W for an average temperature difference of 50 °C is employed for proposed PTH. The TEG presents a voltage source at DC bus of PTH whereas PV source presents a current source for coexistence of the two sources.
