How does BOTOX® Cosmetic work?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of the “11s,” the moderate-to-severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines). It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes moderate to severe lines to form between the brows.
When will I see results from a BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment?
Within days, you may see a marked improvement in the moderate-to-severe frown lines between your brows. Lines continue to improve for up to 30 days, and results can last for up to 4 months. Individual results may vary.
How long does BOTOX® Cosmetic last?
Visible results have been shown to last up to 4 months.1 Your own results may vary – be sure to talk to your healthcare provider about what you can expect and when to schedule your next appointment.
Is treatment with BOTOX® Cosmetic painful?
Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. Prior to injection, your physician may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream. The entire procedure takes approximately 10 minutes. Most patients are in and out of the physician’s office without downtime following BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment.
Side effects associated with the injection include localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, swelling, redness, and/or bleeding/bruising.
Will I still be able to make facial expressions?
Although the results are visible, a treatment with BOTOX® Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you’ve “had work done.” The muscle activity that causes frown lines between the brows is temporarily reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised without the wrinkles and creases between your brows.
Who should not take BOTOX® Cosmetic?Do not take BOTOX® Cosmetic if you:
are allergic to any of the ingredients in BOTOX® or BOTOX® Cosmetic. See theMedication Guide for a list of ingredients in BOTOX® and BOTOX® Cosmetic.
had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product such as Myobloc® or Dysport®

These are not all the possible side effects of BOTOX® and BOTOX® Cosmetic. For more information, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.
What will happen to the moderate to severe frown lines between my brows if I choose not to continue treatments?
If you do not continue treatments, the moderate-to-severe frown lines between your brows will gradually return to the way they looked before treatment.
Q & A's of IV Nutritives and Vitamin Injections
Picture
Why take IV (intravenous) vitamin therapy instead of vitamin pills?
Administration of vitamins by the intravenous route brings with it the benefit of rapid increase in blood concentration. The blood concentrations obtainable by intravenous administration exceed the concentrations obtainable by oral or even intramuscular routes. Various nutrients have been shown to exert pharmacologic effects, which are in many cases dependent on the concentration of the nutrient in the blood. IV nutrient therapy may also be more effective than oral or IM (intramuscular) treatment for correcting intracellular nutrient deficits. Additionally, some side effects common with high dose oral vitamin therapy such as nausea, stomach discomfort and flushing are avoided when vitamins are delivered by the intravenous manner.
What are the benefits of IV fluid therapy?
IV fluid therapy is used to treat dehydration. Dehydration can occur secondary to illness, exercise, poor diet, and even excessive alcohol consumption when not balanced by adequate fluid intake. When dehydrated one may feel lethargic and easily fatigued. Additionally, if the dehydration is severe enough one may experience elevated heart rate, lower than normal blood pressure, and confusion. Intravenous rehydration quickly and effectively reverses both dehydration and its associated symptoms.
What is a Myer’s cocktail?
Magnesium is the fourth most abundant mineral in the body. 50% of magnesium is found in bone, the other half is found predominantly inside cells. Only 1% of magnesium is found in the blood, but the body works very hard to keep blood levels constant. Magnesium is needed for more than 300 biochemical reactions in the body. It helps maintain normal nerve and muscle function, supports healthy immune system, keeps heart rhythm steady and keeps bones strong. There is also some interest in the role of magnesium in preventing and managing disorders such as hypertension, cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Magnesium also has a role in the treatment of asthma and COPD. It may also be an effective treatment for RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome). Magnesium is also used in the treatment of migraines.
What are the benefits of the B vitamins?
B vitamins are a group of water soluble vitamins that play important roles in cell metabolism. Vitamin B1 plays an important role in the generation of energy from carbohydrates and is involved in RNA and DNA production. Vitamin B2 is involved in the catabolism of fatty acids. Vitamin B3 plays an important role in energy transfer reactions and the metabolism of glucose, fat, and alcohol. Vitamin B5 is involved in the oxidation of fatty acids and carbohydrates. Vitamin B6 is involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters and hemoglobin, and also plays an important role in the production of glucose. Vitamin B12 is involved in the cellular metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and lipids. It is essential for the production of blood cells and bone marrow, nerve sheaths, and proteins.
Vitamin B therapy can help with energy, metabolism, as well as physical and mental well being.
Benefits of B12
★ More energy, mental alertness and stamina for every day tasks
★ Healthier immune systems
★ Improves sleep
★ Increases metabolism, thereby aiding in weight loss
★ Reduces allergies, stress and depression
★ Improves mood stabilization
★ Lessens frequency and severity of migraines and headaches
★ Helps lower homocysteine levels in the blood, thereby reducing the probability of heart
★diseases and strokes
B12 Facts
★ Vegetarians (especially vegans) are also given shots of B12 since their diet is low in
animal products, the primary source of B12.
★ People with chronic fatigue or anemia require frequent injections of vitamin B12 usually
because the oral form is not dependable.
★ Vitamin B12 shots are most effective when taken at regular intervals. A regular schedule
to receive the injections can be customized to each individual.
★ The body's ability to absorb vitamin B12 is reduced with increasing age. Older people
are often detected to have a more potent vitamin B12 deficiency, even in cases where
they do not suffer from pernicious anaemia.
★ Hydroxycobalamin (Hydroxy B12) is a unique form of vitamin B12, which is more readily
converted into the coenzyme forms than conventional cyanocobalamin.
Hydroxycobalamin also readily binds body stores of cyanide.
★ Deficiency of vitamin B12 can lead to abnormal neurologic and psychiatric symptoms
including ataxia (shaky movements and unsteady gait), muscle weakness, spasticity,
incontinence, hypotension, vision problems, dementia, psychoses, and mood
disturbances
★B12 injections are typically used as a treatment for a certain type of anemia (pernicious
anemia). In this type of anemia, people lack intrinsic factor in the stomach which is
necessary for the absorption of the vitamin.
Possible Side Effects and Contraindications of B12
★ A vitamin B12 shot is safe and generally has no side effects, even in higher doses.
★ Some redness and swelling at the injection site may occur. This should start to get
better
within forty-eight (48) hours.
★ Sensitivity to cobalt and/or cobalamin is a contraindication.
★ People with chronic liver and/or kidney dysfunction should not take frequent B12
injections;
What are the benefits of Vitamin C?
The antioxidant vitamin C is involved in protecting the cell from oxidative damage. Exercise and other stressfu
