“Trashbox” when the backup destination for the D2D backups is a Buffalo NAS device.

Description:
Arcserve D2D backup having target as shared folder created on a Buffalo NAS device, you will
see an additional folder with the name “Trashbox” having the same folder as the name of the
D2D backup destination.
Example:
Backup destination share name: SHR1 (Hosted on the Buffalo NAS Device)
Arcserve D2D Server Name: SERVER1
You will see an additional folder with the name “trashbox” when you access the share using the
UNC path SHR1.
Trashbox folder will have a folder inside it with the same name as the server “SERVER1”.
Directory structure of the folder trashboxSERVER1 will be the same as the destination folder of
the d2d backups (i.e., SHR1SERVER1).
The size of this folder keeps increasing after your backup jobs complete and at some instance it
will take up more space than your original destination for the backup.
Solution:
You can delete the folder with the servername created in the folder "trashbox"
More Information:
The trashbox directory is your recycling bin for the NAS device. When you delete a file off the
Terastation it gets moved to the trashbox.
