Social Peer incompatibility or social isolation may be raised, and reflect anything from a personality clash to a developing psychiatric illness. A large part of the social life in medical school is based around sport and social drinking, but some students do not feel they fit into this mould. Some have been to single-sex schools, and have difficulty relating to pee rs of a different gender. They have worked so hard to gain a medical school place that they may have neglected their social development. The majority of our students join directly from school, and many have not yet developed their sexual confidence or identity.
