Having a stubborn society contributes a lot to this issue because there are some individuals who do not do anything to try and help save the environment. They continue to do the harmful things every day without thinking of its possible long term effects. They probably do not think that they will be affected by it in the long run.
One of the biggest and most threatening effects of global warming is climate change. Although the constant change of climate is normal for the Earth, human activities that lead to global warming contribute to the normal speed of climate change. This would also lead to rise in sea levels because of the change of climate in certain places. More storms, typhoons and natural disasters will also become more severe. Scientists have come up with the firmest evidence so far that global warming will significantly increase the intensity of the most extreme storms worldwide. The maximum wind speeds of the strongest tropical cyclones have increased significantly since 1981. According to research published in Nature this week and the upward trend, rising ocean temperatures is unlikely to stop at any time soon. (Planet Save, 2009)
