Results of this study demonstrate that DHM process
simulations can provide good estimations of the workload
in real-life tasks when comprehensive screening
methods like AAWS are applied. Correlations between
assessment results in real-life and DHM simulations
were fairly high considering that a perfect congruence
can hardly be reached. Furthermore, significant
correlations with the subjectively perceived workload
were found. Results also indicate that certain workloads,
such as static postures and extra strains, might
be detected more reliably in DHM simulations than in
real-life assessments. On the contrary, action forces are
rather hard to estimatefrom DHM simulations because
they cannot be observed directly. Moreover, it has to be
considered that inter-rater differences can occur when
paper-and-pencil methods are used for assessing DHM
