The CAHS differs from other measures of
appraisal because it allows for (a) simultaneous
measurement of multiple dimensions of appraisal;
(b) benign/irrelevant appraisals, because not all
individuals appraise events as stressful to their
current health status; and (c) secondary appraisals,
because the differing judgments and perceptions
contribute to the overall appraisal process
