Authorities on July 27 raided two resorts in a national park in kanchanaburi and pressed charges of forest encroachment against officials who owned the properties.
Thewin Measap, chief of khao Laem Nationl park in kanchanaburi province, said a team of the Department of National parks, wildlife and plant conservation joined military and police officers in raiding the resorts. Both were immediately closed down.
The raid team found that one of the resorts was owned by a senior military officer, Thewin said.
