Instructions for using Turesky index:
1.disclose the patient
2. Record buccal, labial, palatal and lingual surfaces for each tooth (using the index that follows)
0= no plaque (Figure 29.2)
1=Separate flecks of plaque at cervical tooth margin (Figure 29.3)
2=Thin, continuous band of plaque (up to 1 mm) at cervical margin (Figure 29.4)
3=Band of plaque more than 1 mm wide but covering less than of the crown (Figure 29.5)
4=Plaque covering at least but less than of the crown (Figure 29.6)
5= Plaque covering or more of the crown (Figure 29.7)
3.Calculate the percentage of plaque present
