Table II shows that the intelligent traffic information system
proposed can reduce the average trip time in at least 7% and
at most 47% for the evaluated scenarios (Figure 3(a)). When
the vehicle density stays fixed in 400 vehicles/km2 and the
congestion time is varied (Figure 4(a)), the average trip time
increases. Thereby, the greater the congestion time the greater
is the trip time for the OVMT. However, for proposed system,
the average trip time remains constant due to the fact that the
system computed alternative routes to avoid the congestion.
