Ying, our buddy Bow has said she is interested in I-TIM after high school. I have two first impressions 1) special training is a good route for many students
2) many of these FOR PROFIT training schools rip off (take advantage) of students, teach little, and are of little value to the student often leaving them with large loans and no good job to help them pay off the loan
3) Hotels are generally not my favorite places for work, even for management who live on premises and are always on duty-medical field has lots of great jobs with two semesters needed for xray tech, stress test, dental assistant, etc. I won't mention accounting since our buddy hates math (so sad).
If not yet Ying, I would encourage you to check out I-TIM for value.
On thinks Kik's friend Nam (Pornacha) finished her first year in a culinary school with I-TIM, and we understand she is from a well off family that helped her choose. Is this school expensive?
We also have a friend who was saved one afternoon at Maitrichit along with another Thai that were working as interns at the Ploy Palace. Baw now works for the Dusit Thani in Bangkok but as a waitress even though she graduated from Kalasin Ratchapat in Somdek.
For most people, there are far better choices that hospitality field. If Bow wants to run a restaurant, she needs to learn math, accounting and cooking.
I am not against this type training at all, just skeptical of all schools that are FOR PROFIT.
We need to talk with you old friend Ying!!! Miss you all....
