To gain an overview of the RF spectrum and perform initial reconnaissance, the
system scans the spectrum of interest in order to show details on all active emitters.
This step provides a quick overview of the current electromagnetic scenario and is
often the first task performed.
Operators make use of the wideband receiver in panorama scan mode. This mode
allows very fast scanning, which ensures that no emissions go unnoticed. The operator
defines the frequency range of interest and the adequate step width. Alternatively, the
operator makes use of a wide instantaneous RF bandwidth and searches for signals
within that range.
