SWISS carried 7.710 million passengers in the first six months of 2016, a slight 0.9% decline on the prior-year period. A total of 71,827 flights were operated, a year-on-year increase of 1.4% (H1 2015: 70,870 flights). First-half systemwide seat load factor amounted to 78.5%, down from the 81.3% of the prior-year period. SWISS offered 4.0% more capacity systemwide in the first six months of 2016 in available seat-kilometre (ASK) terms. Total traffic volume, measured in revenue passenger-kilometres (RPKs), was raised 0.5%. Total cargo sales for the first-half period were broadly unchanged in revenue tonnekilometre terms. Cargo load factor (by volume) amounted to 74.0%, a decline of 2.6 percentage points (H1 2015: 76.6%).
