Table 2 presents the antimicrobial activity of extracts from
acclimatized and wild Pelargonium sidoides plants. The extracts
exhibited better activity against the Gram-positive bacterial strains
(Enterococcus faecalis and Staphylococcus aureus) compared to the
Gram-negative strains tested (Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas
aeruginosa). Aerial parts of both acclimatized and wild plants
exhibited better antimicrobial activity against Enterococcus faecalis,
Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Candida albicans
compared to their respective underground parts
