The result also showed that the stem bark
extracts are more effective than the leaf
extracts. This may be due to the fact that the
stem bark was more developed and mature than
the leaves and may contain fewer pigments and
other phenolics which have been reported to
interfere with the antimicrobial activity of the
extracts. Out of the three solvents used for
extraction, the acetone extracts showed the
highest activity against the test organisms,
followed by the ethanol extracts and water
extracts.
