Principal Component Factor (PCA) Analysis with Latent Root
Criterion and orthogonal rotation reduced the 10 perceived
importances of tsunami safety measure attributes to three factors.
The three factors represented 64.89% of the total variance
explained. These three factors are: 1) crisis management, 2)
tsunami evacuation system, and 3) emergency kits. Summated
indicators of these safety measure attributes were formed by
averaging the corresponding items (see Table 3). All three factors
were used as dependent variables for MANOVA.
