From these data, it can be inferred that Latino caregivers need
more information about health care services and the importance of taking care of themselves so that they are better equipped to handle the stressors of caregiving and
increase their coping abilities, physical function, and overall health. Cultural values
and beliefs may be protective resources, but may also create a conflict for Latino
caregivers as they (especially women) navigate the work place, American society,
and its complex health care system.
