Edessa known as "city of waters",is a city in northern Greece and the capital of the Pella regional unit, in the Central Macedonia region of Greece. It was also the capital of the defunct province of the same name. It is the second largest city in Pella, after Giannitsa. Edessa holds a special place in the history of the Greek world. The waterfalls of Edessa are the most famous of Greece.The biggest waterfall is named “Karanos” and the water falls from a height of about 70 meters. Near the waterfalls operates the open-air Museum of Water.
