Rating the Growth Factors
As you review the employee’s behaviors over the past year, rate the employee on each Growth Factor as high, medium, or low.
High – Always demonstrates the growth factor and does not exhibit any red flag behavior.
Medium – Sometimes demonstrates the growth factor and very rarely exhibits any red flag behavior.
Low – You rarely see the behaviors or you see red flags.
Then develop a single rating of the employee’s overall ability –again as high, medium or low.
Remember, an individual’s behaviors on the Growth Factors can change over time. Make sure that you are considering only behaviors from the past year as you assess an employee’s potential.
