2.5. Data presentation and statistical analyses
All the results are expressed asmeans± standard deviation (SD). In
all analyses, the assumption of normality was tested using Shapiro and
Wilk test. The assumption of homogeneity of variances was tested using
Barlett test. As both assumptions of normality and homogeneity of variances
were satisfied, parametric testing was performed. The data
discussed are the averages from three independent assays and were
subject to one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), followed by Fisher's
Least Significant Difference (LSD) test (Granato et al., 2014). Differences
in values were considered significant when the P value was less than
0.05. The statistical analyses were performed using the Sisvar 5.3 software
(Ferreira, 2010), except the Bartlett test, which was performed
using the Assistat software (Silva and Azevedo, 2009).
