In low-grade progressive gliomas, neoadjuvant chemotherapy
may be proposed in selected cases (eg, oligodendrogliomas
with 1p chromosome deletion) to postpone
radiotherapy and to avoid cognitive sequelae in this
population, which is often young, socially active, and has
a long life expectancy. A recent study performed on lowgrade
glioma patients showed that cognitive impairment
was mostly the result of the use of AEDs [8].
