3.2. Characteristics of SF/CS blending membranes
In case of these biomaterials possibly used as wound dressings, the stability is one of the important factors in determining the usefulness of these biomaterials. When the membranes immersed in the saline solution, the untreated CS/SF blending membranes were cracked into several fragments in a few minutes. However, the pure CS membranes and the ADA fixed CS/SF membranes were dissolved slowly and maintaining the overall integral during the process (data have not shown). The reason is that the ADA fixation could promote the stability of the blending membranes. The results of stability of each sample reveal that the ADA-fixed blending membranes obtained a higher biological stability than the non-fixed samples.
