A facile,greenandefficient approachconsistedofanovelliquidphaseexfoliationandsolvothermalsynthesismethodhasbeenadoptedto
prepare graphene/ZnOnanocompositesaselectrodematerialforelectrochemicalcapacitors.Highlypristinegraphenewasproducedfrommild
sonication treatmentofrawhighlypyrolyticgraphiteinasolutionataproperratioofethanolandwater.TheX-raydiffraction(XRD)analysis
revealed theformationofpureZnOstructurefromthezincnitratehexahydrateprecursorduringsolvothermalsynthesis.Thesurface
characteristics andelementalcompositionofthenanocompositeshavebeenstudiedbymeansof field emissionscanningelectronmicroscopy
(FESEM), energydispersivespectroscopy(EDS)andtransmissionelectronmicroscope(TEM).Theelectrochemicalpropertiesofthegraphene/
ZnO nanocompositeswereexaminedbycyclicvoltammetry(CV),galvanostaticcharge–discharge testsandelectrochemicalimpedance
spectroscopy (EIS).Thegraphene/ZnOnanocompositesdisplayedanimprovedcapacitiveperformanceof236F/gatascanrateof10mV/s,
excellent cyclicperformance,andanaverageenergydensityof11.80Wh/kg.Theimprovedelectrochemicalperformanceofthenanocomposites
can beascribedtothehighelectricalconductivityofthesynthesizedpristinegrapheneandthegoodelectroactivepropertyofZnO.
