Standardized extract of Piper ovatum (SEPO)
An enriched extract called SEPO was produced from the extract with high concentration of piperlonguminine. The extract was solubilized in 0.05 mol/L (10:1) NaOH/ethanol solution. Next, it was placed in a separator funnel followed by extraction with 3 ethylacetate fractions, which were combined, and the solvent was evaporated in rotary evaporator under vacuum at 30◦C temperature until SEPO was obtained, which was then used for the bioassays
The time elapsed to reach the maximum mortality was determined using a solution with a concentration corresponding to LC99. Bioassays were performed in triplicate using 200 mL solution containing 50 A. aegypti larvae in each replica. Mortality rate was recorded every 0.5 h of exposure to the solution until obtaining 100% of larval mortality
