Lesson COG 3
Task: Remain seated.
Prerequisites: ADT 1
Concept: Remaining seated can become an act of significance, especially when class-room settings are to be used for learning. The goal of this exercise is not to achieve strong focus to the lessons being presented but rather for the student to remain in one place for at least a 5-minute period. During the initial assessment, this item should have been scored as nonapplicable for a student who is wheelchair-bound because that student has no option but to comply. The sample lesson presented here is initially a modified version of musical chairs where an adequate amount of chairs are available. This skill is later transferred to the actual classroom setting.
Behavioral Objective: The student will remain seated during classroom activities for a 5-minute period to a 95% accuracy level for 20 trials.
Materials: Music and chairs.
