Research does not provide clear evidence to definitively answer these questions, but as always, experienced nurses will approach women of AMA with their nursing wisdom and skill, and some research (Carolan, 2004) provides insight on how a nurse can tailor care to meet specific psychosocial needs of women of AMA. Much of what follows may seem like expert nursing care applicable to women of all ages; however, some suggestions have been designed to meet special needs of women of AMA that have previously been discussed. Today, nurses are working harder, faster, and smarter to meet employer and patient demands. Yet, there are ways to tailor care that do not overwhelm patient or provider.
