It has been established, that conjugated polymers that reveal semiconducting properties, can be obtained from PPD using diazotization and azo-coupling method. The type of charge carriers
and the mechanism of conductivity have given and presented schematically based on the obtained conductivity and ESR data for as-synthesized and doped with iodine polymers, as well as on the experimental and theoretical works noted in the literature. Obtained polymers reveal very interesting feature to increase their conductivities when doped by hydrochloric and sulfuric
acids.
