Soil hydraulic properties: In this study, 150 g of dry sandy soil
were packed in 100 cm3 soil column at soil bulk density of 1.5 g
cm-3. The same equipment and technique was used to determine
soil hydraulic properties, namely, relationship between volumetric
water content θ and soil water pressure head h, relationship
between θ and unsaturated hydraulic conductivity K(θ) in one
step pressurized outflow experiments using the inverse solution
in HYDRUS-1D software 21, 22. The measurements were performed
at -400 cm pressure head. The saturated hydraulic conductivity
Ks was determined by the falling head method 23. Residual water
content θr was equal to θfinal and the saturated water content θs
was equal to θinitial, both of which were measured after the
experiment.
