ธงชาติ

พื้นธงเป็นสีแดงล้วน ตรงกึ่งกลางมีรูปดาว 5 แฉก สีเหลืองทอง หมายถึง ชนชั้นต่าง ๆ ในสังคมเวียดนาม คือ นักปราชญ์ ชาวนา ช่างฝีมือ พ่อค้า และทหาร สีแดง หมายถึง การต่อสู้เพื่อกู้เอกราชของชาวเวียดนามและสีเหลือง หมายถึง ชาวเวียดนาม แต่ภายหลังการรวมชาติเวียดนามในปี พ.ศ. 2519 ได้มีการอธิบายใหม่ในทางการเมืองว่า สีแดง หมายถึง การปฏิวัติโดยชนชั้นกรรมาชีพ และดาวสีทอง หมายถึง การชี้นำของพรรคคอมมิวนิสต์เวียดนาม
