How to Provide Reinforcement
- Provide knowledge of Performance (feedback regarding the correctness of an action e.g. you transferred your weight when hitting the ball)
- Provide sincere and contingent feedback (feedback based on actual performance)
- Provide motivational and instructional feedback.
Motivational – “Great hustle, keep pushing yourself, you can do it.”
Instructional – “On this next ball, step forward and follow though.”
- Vary your type of Feedback – Verbal, Facial, Physical
