Today sees the launch of our annual global survey, MySay, which will be open for completion until 26 September.
MySay is invaluable to us because it is the most effective way for us to gauge how our people feel about working at A&O. Your views are vital in helping us to create a collaborative environment where you feel trusted; where you feel empowered to learn and build a skillset that is right for your future; and where together we can deliver great work for our clients.
Over 70% of you contributed to MySay during each of the last two years, which is fantastic, as it has given us a very rich and diverse range of views to draw upon.
During the last 24 months we have got to work on a series of initiatives at a local level. These have included creating better awareness of the training provided for you; continuing to introduce steps to help improve work life balance where it’s needed; and generally trying to ensure greater recognition of the contribution each of you is making towards the firm’s success.
There is much more we can do, and we are continuing to focus on these and many other initiatives in response to the feedback you have given us. In the meantime we’d like to gather your thoughts on how we are progressing in relation to three of the things that, collectively, you said were important last year – which were having opportunities to grow and develop your skills; receiving constructive feedback on your performance; and being able to work flexibly. We will run the full survey again next year.
You can tell us as much or as little as you would like to. The survey should take around three minutes to complete.
I would like to reassure you that your responses are entirely anonymous. While the survey allows us to understand sentiment across different practice groups and departments as a whole, it does not give us the granularity to identify individual people’s responses.
So please be honest with us! We want to make A&O a great place to work, and we can only do that with your help.
We will share this year’s survey findings with you from November onwards.
