5. Guidelines
1 Ground transport personnel: Uniforms include
EMS pants with reflective strip
Blue color uniform blue shirt with BES logo, work position and reflective strip
Jacket (optional)
2 Air Interfacility flight personnel (RW)
Flight suits shall be made of fire retardant material with approved reflective striping and an Air Care logo patch.
Socks and undergarments shall be made of a natural (silk, 100% cotton, wool) or flame retardant material.
Helmets shall be individually fitted. Each crew member that flies regularly as part of their duty
Helmet will be annually inspect
3 Air Interfacility flight personnel (FW)
Uniform (Shirt, pants and flight jacket) shall be made of 100 % cotton or fire retardant material
Socks and undergarments shall be made of a natural (silk, 100% cotton, wool) or flame retardant material.
Safety shoe with protective toe is required
4 Air medical evacuation flight personnel
Uniform include BES uniform or aviation medicine shirt, pants and flight jacket
Safety shoes is required
Additional cloth should be prepared for appropriate weather condition at the destination.
5 Ground Personnel with Episodic Flight Duties
Shall comply with flight personnel dress code as specified above or have all clothing and equipment necessary to change into for flight duty with them during their shifts so as not to significantly delay response time for transition into full compliance with flight personnel dress code.
6 Sea (Hydrolance) transport personnel
Shall wear company uniform as well as ground transport personnel.
Toe protective, anti- slip and water resistant shoes is required
high visibility Life jacket with whistle and jacket lights shall be worn while transporting patient on the boat.
Life jacket will be annually inspect
High visibility rain jacket should also be prepared.
7 Flight Dress Code Requirements for Personnel Other Than Aircrew
Observer Program participants, resident and fellow physicians, and all other personnel onboard the aircraft shall wear flight retardant flight suits and helmets.
The following personnel shall not be provided flight suits but will be provided either a helmet or headset and need not be asked to sign a waiver:
a. Family members or others accompanying
b. patients during transport
and other personnel performing or assisting with mission related function
