“Stop teasing my daughter in law” my father said. “He is also ready to be a grandfather it seems” I winked at Gia. She giggled with her cute flushed cheeks. Adrian and Gia were such a cute couple and I was really happy for them. We spent the day catching up about my internship and my travels around the world. My parents and Adrian told me what had happened in Barcelona while I was away. We had lunch together and then I helped my mother do the dishes. “I missed you mom” I said and kissed her cheek. “I missed you too” she smiled. “How was today morning?” she asked. “Why did he pick me up?” I finally asked. “He asked us and we agreed” she said. “You agreed? What the hell happened here while I was away?” I frowned. “He is a good boy Olive” she said. “He hurt me deeply” I said. “I know honey, but don’t you have any feelings for him anymore?” she asked. “I…don’t know” I said. “You should be honest with yourself and with him. If you don’t have feelings for him, tell him. He has waited this long for you” she advised. “I didn’t ask him to wait” I mumbled. “Just talk with him Olive, it’ll do you both good. You can’t keep it all bottled up forever” she said. “I’m not keeping anything bottled up, I’m happy” I said. “You are my daughter, you can’t lie to me. I don’t see those cheerful and happy eyes you used to have” she said and stroked my hair. I sighed and laid my head on her shoulder. “Mom what do I do?” I asked. “Talk with him” she said and kissed the top of my head. Neymar occupied my mind after my talk with my mother. I didn’t know what to think nor do. I had thought about him the past months, but I had told myself over and over again that I didn’t need him. I wasn’t sure if I had just lied to myself, because my mother was right. I could be happy during the day, but when I laid in bed at night I felt nothing…only a numb, cold feeling inside my heart.Today when I saw him at the airport I had felt something in my heart which I cannot describe, but it had only been for a split second. Did I still love him? Was I denying my feelings for him? Or did I simply need closure? I didn’t know. I sighed and decided to unpack my luggage. I put the dirty clothes in the laundry bin and put some new items I had bought in my closet. I noticed something in the back of my closet and pulled it out. It was the picture of me and Neymar he had framed for me. We looked so happy and cute in that picture and a smile curved my lips remembering that day. I put the frame on a chair and continued my work. I heard a knock on my door while I was cleaning my room a bit. “Yes” I said. “Honey, Neymar wants to see you” my mother said. “W-what?” I stuttered. I didn’t expect him to show up again this early! “Shall I tell him that you are tired?” she asked. “No, let him in” I said. “Alright” she said. I quickly looked at myself in the mirror and fixed my hair. I heard a knock on the door a couple of minutes later. “Yes” I said, nervously. He entered my room and made my heart pound in an instant. “Hi” he said. “Hi” I said. We looked at each other and then I gestured him to sit down. “Why are you here?” I asked while leaning against the closet door. “I wanted to take you out” he said. “What?” I asked, surprised. “Somewhere where we could talk” he continued. “Oh” I said. "Only if you want to” he mumbled. He picked something up from a chair and smiled. It was our framed picture. “You kept it” he said, softly. “I didn’t know I still had it” I said. “Oh okay” he said, like he was a little hurt. “I’ll go now. I’ll pick you up at 7pm. If you don’t want to, then text me” he said. I nodded. “Here” he said and handed me a small piece of paper. “My number, since you probably deleted it” he said.
