I am extremely delighted to bring to your kind notice that I am formally in receipt of your unconditional offer of appointment as Executive Sales in your esteemed organisation.
I consider it a matter of pride and privilege, on being offered to work with your office being designated as Executive Sales w.e.f. 1st January, 2014 on very attractive terms and conditions, fully acceptable to me.
Meanwhile, while the scheduled date for accepting and joining the assignment is only a couple of days ahead, misfortune has struck unexpectedly in my personal affairs.
Please be apprised that our family is fighting some legal battle over a piece of agricultural land and the case is being fought for well over a couple of decades. The fate of the case is heading for a decisive phase and the most crucial hearing is being slated for the next week. My visit in person is indispensable and am not sure, how much time it might require. I couldn’t afford to be out of station indefinitely, once I formally join your office.
In view of the above, I hereby earnestly request you to kindly postpone my appointment for the present. I shall definitely get in touch with you immediately after returning from my native place.
Please consider my humble request for postponing my appointment date and be kind enough to permit me to join on a future date and oblige.
Thanking you.
