The application of performance measures in supply chain has demonstrated to be
an emerging topic. Such matter requires the development of frameworks that provide
efficient and accurate measures. In terms of implications, these frameworks should be
developed under an easy-to-implement perspective. In this sense not only academics
but also practitioners will be capable of implement them within the industry
environment. Performance measurement is the key issue of decision making, especially in a dynamic atmosphere involving different suppliers, numerous
customers and many conflicting requirements. Also, performance measurement is a
means to establish a continuous improvement strategy.
