Chitosan is an amino polysaccharide that is chemically similar
to cellulose. Chitin and chitosan are manufactured commercially in
large scale from outer shell of crustaceans. Chitosan is used in many
applications and is currently available in number of useful forms including powder, flakes, beads and fiber . Because of its hydrophilicity,
cationicity, biocompatibility and ease of modification, chitosan membranes have become a promising candidate for separation applications
