I am an internationally acclaimed professional photographer who specialises in producing creative & contemporary landscape and travel images. My photographs have been published internationally (e.g. on posters, greetings cards, book covers, advertisements) and have illustrated books, magazines, newspapers & calendars across the world. My prints have been widely exhibited throughout the UK and have also appeared on sets for both theatre & film productions. My work has won many awards - for example, my landscape images have been successful in the UK’s ‘Black & White Photographer of the Year’ competition.
I enjoy writing & teaching about photography and frequently give talks on landscape photography to photographic groups in the UK and abroad. I am also a regular contributor to many of the major photography magazines in the UK as well as a growing number of overseas titles. I have run a successful workshop programme for several years, encouraging and inspiring photographers of all levels and I’m also an instructor on the Phase One PODAS workshops leading courses for photographers from across the world.
My approach to photography can be summarised in the following quote from one of my magazine articles: - “Communicating mood & emotion are my most important motivators for making images. For me the essence of photography is to capture and communicate what I’m feeling, as much (if not more) than what I see at the time of releasing the shutter. If my photographs speak to the viewer on an emotional level then I have succeeded in my work.”
