Just as we can learn grammar through meaning-focused input and meaning-focused
output, we can also learn grammar incidentally through fluency development.
Fluency development involves working with very easy familiar material with some
encouragement to go faster. Fluency development activities can provide large amounts
of input and output, and because of this increased exposure to the language, fluency
development activities can add to and strengthen grammatical knowledge both
receptively and productively.
