Of the five strains of B. subtilis (13, 35, 55, 135 and 160) tested to
evaluate their degree of anti-fungal activity against S. reilianum,
only the 135 and 160 strains inhibited the development of the fungus
in vitro (Fig. 1).
Different extracellular filtrates were obtained from the 135 and
160 strains as described in Section 2, at 12, 24 and 60 h, which correspond
to the logarithmic early stationary, and late stationary
phases, respectively. The filtrates obtained inhibited the growth
of the fungus (Fig. 2). The samples with the highest activity were
obtained from strain 160 in the stationary phase (Table 1).
