There are some factors of projects such as there being an inadequate basis for the project, the wrong person as project manager, talks inadequately defined, lack of technical project management and lack of commitment to the project that contribute to the failure of projects (Munns & Bjeirmi, 1996). Other factors that can have an influence on why a project fails are to do with time, cost, and customer satisfaction (Thomas & Fernandéz, 2008), and also the management model (Haughey, 2010). To understand the perceptions of the factors of success and failure in information technology projects, answers to questions about what influences the outcome of the project are needed.
