Delay analysis goes beyond the mere assessment of construction
program(s) as noted previously. The accuracy of the analysis very
much depends on the underlying data used (Pickavance 2005),
making it mandatory for analysts to check and analyze the data
sources, if credibility of the analysis is to be ensured. The data sources
often relied on include progress reports, project correspondence,
site dairies, minutes of meetings, supervision and inspection
reports, method statement, resource allocation, and costs, as noted
by various authors (e.g., SLC 2002; Pickavance 2005; Kartam
1999; Carmichael and Murray 2006).
