SEM images of the deposited polymer layers are shown in Fig. 4. The characteristic morphology of porous spongy nature of PANI layer is observed as in Fig. 4A. The deposited layer of PANI was observed as inhomogeneously distributed clusters after incorporation of PVA as shown in Fig. 4B. The inhomogeneity of the clusters is better observed on higher magnification as isolated aggregates of inhomogeneous and dissimilar particles in their shape and size as shown in Fig. 4C. It was observed that the composite layers are more adherent to the steel surface than that of PANI layers.
