Among these, 20 women (22.7%) were subsequently excluded because of unanticipated events that occurred in
the time between enrolment and randomization including: 1)
contraindications to exercise noted at a subsequent prenatal
medical examination (n = 3); 2) gestational age on or
near the end of the second trimester at the time of
randomization (n = 12); 3) miscarriage before randomization
(n = 2); or 4) lack of interest in continuing in the study
(n = 3). A total of 68 women (77.3%) were successfully
randomized.
